I’ve been sculpting for seven years and binding books for two or three years now. Both skills are self-taught and were fit in between homemaking, taking care of kids, doing various part-time jobs, moving two or three times, and all the other things that can come up in real life to keep us from our passions.
I have a website that I’m slowly revising and updating, two Etsy shops–one for my books and one for my dolls and sculpts, and a shop on a new site called Handmade FuZion for some of my dolls.
As much as I love sculpting and bookbinding, my family and home come first, so I don’t always have a lot of time to enjoy my art or to keep up with a blog but I will always return at some point to share what I’ve been working on. This also means that when I get some odd inspiration to do something new, my other work is likely to suffer (sculpted canvases is one idea I’ve been playing with as well as doing some altered books).
Beyond all that, I hope you enjoy The Elusive Muse and that it might help give you some inspiration when your own muse is on vacation.
