Thanks, Jackie! I actually had that sepia as the last picture originally. I think I shifted some pics and forgot to put it back at the end. Thanks for the heads up. These take quite awhile to do although I am working on a really small matchbook notepad one that is almost done (if it would just cooperate, grrrr!). Hopefully it won't be too long before I can start on a new one. Thanks for stopping by!

hi, i came after seeing your journals on etsy. I will have to order a few soon, but had to let you know you did a great job on this one! i fell in love with it and if i could drop the money right now it would be mine! perfect, including your little story that had me going for a minute. the only thing i would do is lose the 5th picture, your set is great in sepia but doing it in color jerks you smack back into the 21st century and the magic is gone.
great work...cant wait to see another one!

Heheh. Well, there's definitely a third one (and fourth) in the works. I will very likely do all seven---hmmm, I did seem to imply that there would be two of these first ones, didn't I? LOL. Can't happen though because I use old watches from who-knows-where, some vintage and some not, so I can't ever really duplicate them. I will likely do a hinging/spine/cover similar to this one again, though.

I have some other ideas in mind and beaten copper doesn't figure very much in them. I like how the second came out but figuring out that hinging system was an absolute nightmare.

Oh, the windup key has definitely been on my mind, I just haven't figured out how to engineer that kind of set up yet. But I'm definitely working on that one. Back to my rather anal need for things to work--I want the keyhole to actually accept a windup key and, possibly, for the windup key to make some gears turn. I have a knack for complicating things :D

On another note, I do take custom orders if you have something very specific in mind that you'd want for yourself, so don't hesitate to contact me if you'd rather go that route. Otherwise, it's just a wait and see what my muse offers me next.

If you make a third book, I'd love to see something like the first, perhaps with a keyhole for a windup key of the back or near the edge you open from. I like the second book yes, but beaten brass just isn't my thing :)
Either that or remake this one, I'll buy it ;)
