The Collector
I think...I'm not totally sure that's the name of this piece but that's what I like for now. This is my first ever Darwi sculpt and I LOVE that clay! It's so smooth and wonderful to work with. And easy to sand. I've enjoyed the whole sculpting process and now have to get down to making the rest.
The pics here are for only the sculpted parts--the head, hands and feet. The head has been sanded and buffed a little. I'm not sure if I'm going to do anymore to it yet--might have to build up the brow a little. But since Darwi tends to not take as much detail, I don't think I mind if the features aren't completely realistic looking. The hands have been partially sanded. I was having problems getting into the little nooks and crannies so I'm not sure yet how to sand those spots. The feet haven't been sanded at all and one of them needs a curve put in where the arch goes.
I do have an armature done. I made it long (I really like long, thin figures) and am planning on wrapping batting around it and then costuming. The visual for this one has her sitting on the ground with one knee up and the other crossed under it, holding a micro person (hadn't decided what kind of magical creature it would be yet) and examining him.
